The political impact of any trip for President Sarkozy risks being overshadowed by the presence of his new predatory wife, Italian model turned singer Carla Bruni, who married him to enhance her career. Instead of being the upstanding first Lady of France, this persistent performer continues her prancing on stage by releasing her latest album No Promises in May, making a mockery of her position in the Elysee. Worst of all, Sarkozy doesn’t seem to notice or care that he’s being made a stepping stone in her career. That of course bodes badly for a French President. How can anybody take him seriously when he’s has so much egg on his face? The epitome of a bad decision will eventually come to haunt him for the rest of his political career.
